Computer Facilities and After Hours Access to Computer Lab
The computer lab is available to all students and Alumni. It is located at the North end of the 4th Floor. The Faculty also has wireless access.
Students have access to the computers and printer in the Computer Lab, room 422 at FSW.
The Computer lab is normally open from 8:30 AM. to 4:45 PM, Monday to Friday. If the door is locked, please check with the General Office.
Access to the lab after 5:00 PM and during weekends is available by obtaining an Access Card from the General Office. A deposit of $30 is required to get a card to the building and a code to the lab. The card is valid until you graduate from the program.
Printing Arrangements:
Students, who will be using the printer in the Computer Lab, will need to have a print account set up at least 24 hours before. A sign up sheet will be provided in the General Office for this purpose at the beginning of the school year. Your user ID will be your first initial and last name. You will set up your own password. Once your account is activated you may make your payments in the General Office.
Printing is charged on a per-page basis. $20 for 300 pages and $40 for 700 pages. There will be no refund; you can continue to use up you pages until you graduate.
There is some support for the computer lab. You should report any problem to the General Office, 416-978-6314, stating the nature of the problem and giving the asset number (found on the red and white sticker) of the machine.
Audio-Visual Resources
The Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work has a range of professional audio-visual resources, equipment and technical support available for classroom, field education and research use. Media are used extensively within our M.S.W. program, especially in areas such as the practice labs. You are encouraged to use these resources to enhance your learning, presentations, research and practice.
E-mail Accounts
All registered students will be required to obtain a utoronto.ca email address. Accounts for e-mail and UTORdial accounts for home access can be obtained as soon as you have a student TCard http://www.utoronto.ca/TCard. The TCard Office is located on the St. George Campus in the Robarts Library, 130 St. George Street, 2nd Floor, Room 2054A. New students will need to provide their admissions letter and valid photo identification. With the TCard, students can create a UTORmail address (U of T's e-mail service). Current M.S.W. program information including course descriptions and course timetables are located on the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work home page: http://www.socialwork.utoronto.ca. Students are responsible for keeping their address information current on the University (ROSI) record system (www.rosi.utoronto.ca). Please notify your instructors of any changes during the term.
