Time Limit to Degree
Completing Your M.S.W. Degree
The M.S.W. Program must be completed within four years from the first date of registration.
Completing Your P.D. Degree
A
Ph.D. student at the end of year four is expected to have completed all
program requirements exclusive of the thesis. The notation Candidacy Achieved
will appear on the transcript of the student who has completed his/her
candidacy. A student in good standing can
register up to six years to complete the Ph.D Program and defend the
thesis. A student who has not complete the Ph.D. Program in six years
may
contact the Ph.D. Director to request an extension of one year to complete requirements or
decide to lapse. A student who has lapsed after Year Six may request reinstatement for up to 12 months to
defend the thesis.
