Membership
The Accessibility Committee aims to represent the entire Faculty of Social Work community by including students, faculty, staff and administrators as members of the committee.
The Committee is comprised of all members of student, staff, administration and faculty constituencies interested in participating.
Mission Statement
The Accessibility Committee is responsible for promoting equal accessibility to all Faculty of Social Work programs, physical structures, educational resources, activities and events for all students, faculty, staff without barriers.
The Committee strives to provide individuals with disabilities the full opportunity to participate in all programs, activities and services by making recommendations for appropriate adjustments and modifications to policies, practices and facilities. This may involve providing students with options to meet their individual goals and/or advice on how best to access campus services.
To this end, the Committee identifies problems encountered by students with disabilities and makes the Faculty of Social Work (and the university where necessary) aware of the problems.
The Committee works to implement action plans to make the Faculty (and the university where necessary) responsive and accessible to all Social Work students with disabilities. The Committee also serves as a resource to the Faculty regarding plans and decisions that affect persons with disabilities.
Who We Serve
The Committee serves all students identified as having a disability who are enrolled in degree programs at the Faculty of Social Work, including all full and part time MSW and PhD students.
