The Faculty Alumni Development Office typically offers students in their graduating year the opportunity to meet with a mentor in the Social Work field to advise them as they seek employment.
Hospitals and a number of other organizations hiring M.S.W. grads typically require the individual to be registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). OCSWSSW has made provisions for social work students who have completed all of the requirements for graduation from their social work program but have not yet received their social work degree to become registered with the College before convocation. The certificate of registration requires the student/applicant to provide within a specified period of time after convocation confirmation that he or she has obtained the degree in social work. If you have any questions or want to apply for a RSW, contact the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers www.ocswssw.org.
