Siegi Schuler

Siegi specializes in assessment and treatment of children and adolescents who have experienced interpersonal trauma (physical, sexual, and emotional abuse), children who display problematic sexual behaviour, adolescents who have sexually offended, at-risk youth and youth who are in conflict with the law, and their families, for the past 16 years. Siegi is currently the Consulting Clinical Director at the Halton Trauma Centre, as well as a clinical consultant to Youth Connections Residential Program, Kinark Child and Family Services – Syl Apps Youth Centre, and the National Ballet School of Canada. He also maintains a private practice as a clinical therapist and consultant in the area of child and adolescent mental health, and he regularly provides comprehensive trauma assessments and sexual offence-specific risk assessments to various Children’s Aid Societies in Ontario, Probation Services, and other Children’s Mental Health Centres throughout Toronto.
Siegi has also provided training and workshops regarding his area of clinical interest, and regularly provides consultation regarding program restructuring and clinical best practice when working with children and adolescents within a clinical setting (community and residential settings). He has lectured in the Faculty of Medicine at McMaster University and in the Faculty of Community Services at Sheridan College.
Siegi’s research interests broadly include adolescents who have sexually offended, youth violence, residential treatment for adolescents, children who display problematic/abusive sexual behaviours, and children and adolescents who have experienced interpersonal trauma (with a particular focus on male sexual abuse).
