Currently, Dr. Popova is an Independent Scientist at Public Health and Regulatory Policies, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Toronto. Her present research area is substance use, avoidable disease burden and costs attributable to substance use, and developing treatment intervention policy for illegal drug users. She has a wide variety of research experience related to health, health services and their evaluation. Teaching interests include methods for informing evidence-based social work practice with emphasis on the development of research questions, critical appraisal of the literature and strategies and techniques for conducting practice relevant research.
