Kelsey Simons, PhD, MSW
Dr. Kelsey Simons is currently a Social Work Scientist at Baycrest's Kunin-Lunenfeld Applied Research unit and is cross-appointed as an Assistant Professor (status only) at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Social Work. She is a 2005 graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore, School of Social Work and completed her dissertation on the topic of turnover among social workers in nursing homes, which was funded through the John A. Hartford Foundation's Doctoral Fellows Program. Dr. Simons continues to conduct workforce research on social workers in long-term care settings, and recently completed a study of factors influencing social work student interest in long-term care employment. She also has an interest in developing quality indicators of psychosocial care in long-term care and is developing a pilot study on this topic.
