It's Green Dot Week!
U of T's tri-campus Green Dot campaign aims to create a community that doesn’t tolerate violence, one that cares about others, and supports a safer campus for everyone. Green Dots have been placed around the St. George campus, including the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work. Folks involved in this initiative are Green Dot trainer Lyndsay Henderson from Hart House, Cheryl Champagne, Green Dot co-ordinator, Health and Wellness, and Green Dot trainer Liam Mitchell from Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering.
Prof. Ramona Alaggia and a group of MSW students, Tim Sond, Julie Sine, Alycia Unwin, Catherine Kates, Kailee MacDonald, Amy Soberano, Katy Konyk, Emily Goldstein, and Tanya Liebmann became involved this past year with this initiative to end violence on campus. Their work to shine a light on this issue recently included an art installation and messages of change on December 6 - Day of Call to Action to End Violence Against Women.
The FIFSW is proud to be part of this important campaign and we will remain involved as social workers dedicated to this campus cause. If you want to know more about the campaign, please feel free to contact any of the people above who are representing us in the UT campaign.
